Why hire an on-the-day wedding coordinator?

Quite often people confuse wedding planners with an on-the-day coordinator. A wedding planner will be involved with the planning from the first day and will normally charge a flat fee or percentage of the total cost. An on-the-day coordinator however will jump into the process a few weeks to a few months prior to the big day and is essential for any couple who wants to do most of the planning themselves. Fee’s will be based on one full day plus additional hours to assist with the planning the week or month prior to the wedding. Most couples wonder if it is worth the cost however organising the entire wedding without a coordinator is already stressful enough, so the least you can do is hire someone who can handle the stress of the day. When your wedding day arrives, however lavish or modest, you will want your day to run exactly as you planned it and will need a professional to execute all your hard work.

If anything below sounds familiar, then you would benefit from assistance on the day:

· You have planned and arranged all the details of your wedding day

· It is getting near to the day and you could make use of another pair of eyes looking at the final details to ensure nothing has been missed

· You are worrying about who is going to oversee preparations and suppliers. Do not forget they will be arriving whilst you are getting ready for your big day and getting married

· You have multiple suppliers and moving parts to your day and who will they liaise with on the day – you want to enjoy your day not be bombarded with questions

An on-the-day wedding coordinator will calmly oversee every aspect, liaising with your suppliers and venue, without getting in the way or making a fuss. They will make sure the day is all about you, resolving issues as they arise, so that you do not even notice them.

And finally, your venue has a wedding coordinator so it would be easy to decide you do not need additional help. Just remember that although this sounds similar: It is not the same. List exactly what your needs will be on your wedding day and check what your venue coordinator is able and willing to do. They would not be able to leave the venue if a sudden dash to a nearby shop was required and they may not be able to liaise with your suppliers, cut the cake or pack up the hired in extras.

Your wedding day is one of the most important days of your life so let someone else take all the pressure away, so you can enjoy every magical moment.
